The antique painting bears the signature of the painter on the right, A. Dargent (XIX-XX). French painter. Alphonse Dargent (XIX-XX) was born in Verdun in the Meuse and was a portrait painter. He was a student of Cabanel and first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in Paris in 1874. During his career he won a medal in 1882 and an honor at the 1889 World's Fair. The gilded frame is in pure gold leaf is authentic and coeval with the 19th-century painting. French origin The Antique Painting and the Antique Frame have been carefully and professionally restored.
