About the Item

Oil on board Signed, dated and titled on back. Born 10/28/1945 BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design 1963-67 MFA from Yale University School of Art and Architecture 1967-1969 Known for his paintings and drawings, particularly in the abstract, figure, and landscape genres. He spent his early career in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to his native New England, where he has lived in Portland, Maine for several decades. Lloyd's work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including shows at the Portland Museum of Art and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. He has received grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and was a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome.
