About the Item
Figurative work from 1971 inspired by the Cubist language of Pablo Picasso. The scene depicts a female nude seen from behind, seated in a monumental pose, with a gray figure in transparency in the background suggesting a double, an inner reflection or a dreamlike dimension.
The lit full moon in the upper left illuminates the entire composition, accentuating the nocturnal and surreal atmosphere. Below, geometric elements resembling city lights or abstract symbols float as if in a dream.
Warm and cool colors alternate in a harmonious balance: ochre and brown tones for the main figure, gray-blue for the shaded presence, and a deep backdrop in shades of purple and midnight blue.
The coeval frame, in gilded and sage green wood with glass, enhances the work in its original 1970s context.

Thick canvas stretched over wooden frame, large staples, oil paint, signed, titled, and dated.
There Are Some Imperfections. Some Scuffs Along the boarders and see also corners of this painting and a few chips as well, see pics. I must mention, there is are two tiny u shaped flap like tears. Number one, is to the far left middle boarder edge. The u shaped flap like tear has not been completely torn away from the canvas itself, as you can see for yourself, see pic. Number two, the u shaped flap like tear is on the top boarder middle edge, the flap is still attached to the painting and can be placed back, I try to keep vintage pieces like this in it's original condition as we go about our digs for modern design, see pic. Both are smaller then a dime.
