This romantic feeling oil painting of two young lovers is finished in thin washes of earth tones. Signed "Michael Martin '58".
The painting sits in a large silvered frame.
Michael Martin was a scholarship student at the Carnegie Institute and the Art Institute of Chicago, where he graduated with honors.
He worked as an artist and taught art classes all his life.
His body of work is figures and portrait painting and specialized in pencil drawings of children as well.
He lived a great deal of his life in Layette ID. His works, mainly drawings of people in everyday life are in the permanent collection of the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette.
