Delightful picture capturing the softness light and colours of the English coast on an overcast day Wide composition leading the eye, through the foreshore and grasses to a hamlet and church spire beyond to the sea and other side of the coastline. Lovely soft palette of earth pigments and soft greys. Light handling and brushstrokes creating form, shape and patterns. Monogram bottom right Reframed. Measures: board length 28cm, height 15cm. In a pale grey mount within a gilded frame. Length 41cm, height 38 cm, depth 3cm.
