About the Item

"Love at First Wham" by David Scheinmann, England, 2011 Edition 2/7 (+ 2 AP) Chromogenic Lamda Print (C-Type). Aluminium & Diasec-Non Reflective Matt Acrylic Face Mount. Signed and numbered on verso. Height and width dimensions shown are for mounted image. Please enquire about prices for non-mounted images. Emerging British photographic artist, David Scheinmann has evolved from an award-winning, creative and cutting edge commercial photographer of the 1980s and 1990s into an artist whose work explores issues of cultural identity and popular iconography. A solo exhibition of Scheinmannʼs work, curated by Centro Andaluz de la Fotografia, toured in Spain and his work was show-cased at Royal Dublin Society Collective Contemporary Art in 2010 and has hung in the National Portrait Gallery in London. His series work looks at comic book heroes, pop art, adult entertainers and advertising. Inspired by the recent visual explosion in Contemporary Chinese and Asian art, Scheinmannʼs latest series on Asian Movie Icons is richly rendered in mixed media pigment and silkscreen hybrid prints and was first shown at Art Basel's Hong Kong Art Fair in 2012.
