Photograph by Michel Deverne

About the Item

Deverne (1927-2012) was visual artist most interested in abstract geometric forms and textures. He was not known for photography and accordingly this surviving image is quite rare. This is a stylized photograph of an actual Deverne wall construction from about 1973. It was taken by the artist but is unsigned. The photograph is mounted on wood and has been damaged by fire. Condition is poor (but the effect is quite interesting).
