Original British film poster from the first release of the film in the UK in 1948 Odd Man Out is a classic British film that fits the film noir definition in almost every respect. It's one of the milestones of its era, highlighted by what is arguably the best performance in the illustrious career of James Mason. The film won a BAFTA for Best British Film in 1948. This poster is believed to be the only known surviving example. The poster would be shipped by Federal Express rolled in a strong tube

Original US film poster. Saul Bass was born in New York. Bass was a rotund, jovial character. After studying at the Art Students League and graduating from Brooklyn College, he moved west at the age of 26, and is credited with introducing an East Coast sensibility to marketing. He saw advertising as a means for funding his passion for the movies, and after 6 years working with a number of agencies, he finally had the funds to establish his own. All this time, he was forging ever-closer links with the film industry, and in 1954 this led to a commission from Otto Preminger to design the poster for Carmen Jones.
