About the Item
Original antique poster - Great Southern & Western Railway (GS&WR) - Paris in London - Imre Kiralfy Director General - Earls Court - May to October 1902. Stunning Art Nouveau style image of a fashionably dressed lady wearing a hat and holding a cane with stylised event information text. Imre Kiralfy (1845-1919) was a renowned theatrical performer and producer who created music and dance spectacles in America and England, first with his brother Bolossy (1848-1932), known as The Kiralfy Brothers until their split in 1887; in 1894 Imre moved from the USA to the UK where he created a series of huge annual spectacles from 1895 at Earls Court. Fair condition, restored stains, tears and minor loss, backed on linen.
