Original antique bicycle advertising poster for Peugeot Cycles featuring a great illustration of a smiling elegant lady in a fashionable dress, flowing scarf and hat and a smartly dressed gentleman cycling on red and green bikes alongside a railway track with a steam train travelling behind them at full speed, the colourful bold title text above. Cycles Peugeot was founded in 1882 in France; the brand was relaunched in 2011. Printed by Des Arts Industriels. Fair condition, staining, repaired tears, paper loss on image, minor creasing, backed on linen.

Almery Lobel-Riche
Almery Lobel-Riche (1877-1950) was born to French parents in Geneva, Switzerland. Lobel-Riche studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, and then under Léon Bonnat at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris. The artist was a towering figure in French printmaking. He never formed part of any school, although there is a clear influence in his work of Symbolists such as Félicien Rops and Impressionists such as Louis Legrand, as well as the classical example of Ingres.
