Original Antique Poster IV Concours International De Ski Jump Alpine Club France
About the Item
Original antique winter sport poster for the 4th International Ski Competition organised by the French Alpine Club Alpin Francais (CAF; founded 1874) and held from 21-27 January 1910 in the Pyrenees resorts of Eaux Bonnes and Cauterets featuring a ski jumper zooming to a stop balancing with outstretched arms on wooden skis in the snow in the foreground at the end of a ski jump piste with flags of different countries lining the run by the spectator area on the side including the flags of Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden and France, the CAF coat of arms decorated with the red, white and blue tricolor ribbons of the French flag and Chemins de Fer du Midi / French Railways in the border above. Printed by J. Biere 56 Rue Du Hautour Bordeaux. Large size. Very good condition, minor tear restored, backed on linen.
