About the Item
Original vintage travel advertising poster for the World Fair event held in New York at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park from 30 April 1939 to 31 October 1940. Great Art Deco design by Joseph Binder (1898-1972) depicting the Trylon and Perisphere modernist structures in front of the curve of a globe with the skyscrapers on the New York skyline in the distance and spotlights shining towards planes and a star in the night sky with a train and a ship sailing on a red graphic line below, the stylised lettering reading: New York World's Fair The World of Tomorrow 1939. Good condition, restored tears, small restored paper loss in top right corner, minor creasing, scuff marks on image, backed on linen.
