François Henri de Montmorency-Bouteville, Duke of Piney-Luxembourg, commonly known as Luxembourg (8 January 1628 – 4 January 1695), and nicknamed "The Upholsterer of Notre-Dame", was a French general and Marshal of France. Source unknown, to be determined. Artists and Engravers: Anonymous. Condition: Good, general age-related toning. Blank verso, partly mounted to grey paper. Please study image carefully. Gorgeous vintage lithograph after Henri de Toulouse Lautrec's "La Gitane" by Jean Richepin. This print was produced in the late 1960's by famed Penn Prints in New York. Overall this print is in great condition. There's some small creases due to handling, but no rips, nicks or discoloration. This print is unframed. This print was originally produced by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec for "La Gitane" or 'The Gypsy," a drama by Jean Richepin in 4 acts. The play was first performed at the Theatre Antoine on January 22nd 1900. This poster was one of only two where Toulouse-Lautrec utilized a process where by several colors can be printed at one pass of the printing press as long as the color sequence is arranged in concert with the movement of the platen.
