Antique print titled 'Soengei-Belawan - Virgin Jungle'. View of the jungle/forest and the Sungai Belawan river, Sumatra, Indonesia. This print originates from the album 'Sumatra’s O. K.’ by C.J. Kleingrothe. This album consists of 64 photogravures documenting various facets of social and economic life in Sumatra’s East Coast under Dutch rule.
Artists and Engravers: C.J. Kleingrothe was a prolific commercial photographer who captured extensive views of the Dutch East Indies and the Malay Peninsula during the late 19th century and early decades of the 20th century.
Condition: Good, general age-related toning. Some foxing and wear, mostly in margins. Blank verso, please study image carefully.
