Notes: You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who isn't familiar with this image. Shot by Steve Steigman in 1979, the photo was used for a 1980 ad campaign for Maxell high-fidelity tapes. While the photo was used in a 1980 issue of Rolling Stone, the image was later brought to screens by way of a filmed advertisement. The image features the set's makeup artist, Jac Colello, as the listener in a Le Corbusier-designed Grand Confort LC2, using a JBL L100 speaker to play the Maxell tape. Most associated with the 1981 commercial's use of Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries", this image has been parodied and referenced in multiple pieces of media from The Simpsons to Jackass 3D. Fine art print released through The Weaver Gallery.
