Andere Wappen-Charte: Coats of Arms of the European Empires and Kingdoms with Historical Annotations, 1718 Detailed description: This beautifully hand-colored copper engraving, printed in Nuremberg in 1718 by Johann Ernst Adelbulner, presents the coats of arms of various European empires and kingdoms. Created by Christoph Weigel, this map is taken from his *Bequemer Schul- und Reisen-Atlas*, also known as *Atlas scholasticus et itinerarius*, which he produced in collaboration with Professor Johann David Köhler. The engraving includes elaborate heraldic symbols representing the grandeur of European monarchies, complete with historical annotations. Details: Cartographer: Christoph Weigel Title: Andere Wappen-Charte Derer Europaeischen Kaiserthümer und Koenigreiche mit beygefügter historischer Erklärung Publisher, Year: Johann Ernst Adelbulner, Nuremberg, 1718 Condition: Very good condition. The engraving remains vibrant with well-preserved original hand coloring. Weigel collaborated frequently with notable cartographers, including Johann Baptist Homann, enhancing his reputation for quality geographical publications. Following his death, his wife continued his publishing business. His younger brother, Johann Christoph Weigel (1661-1726), also made significant contributions as an engraver and publisher in Nuremberg. This historical engraving serves as a stunning representation of European heraldry, displaying the coats of arms of various empires and kingdoms alongside detailed historical annotations, providing a fascinating glimpse into the power structures and heritage of early 18th-century Europe.
