David Hammons Flue Magazine 1981:
FLUE, was a periodical published by Franklin Furnace. This issue includes a standout artist page by David Hammons uniquely titled “Pissed Off”. The unique Hammons title is based on a photograph of Hammons by none other than, Dawoud Bey & was shot when Hammons peed on a graffiti-covered wall received a ticket from NYPD.
Offset printed artist periodical. 31 pages. 1981.

Issue further includes Artist’s Pages by Ana Mendieta & Agnes Denes; with cover art by Louise Lawler.
The downtown art space Franklin Furnace (founded byMartha Wilson 1976) - is recognized for combining & programming around performance art, artists books and other new formats. In 1980 they created the Flue as “a printed space in which anything might happen.” This open-ended format found memorable expression in the unedited “Artist’s Pages” present in most issues of the always evolving publication.
Ana Mendieta’s page in Flue vol. 2 no. 1, 1981 drew upon the artist’s Cuban background.
