Classic deadpan Ruscha image with engaging fleck texture borrowed from the graphic rendition of overspray across the flatlands of Los Angeles. That fair city represented here by minimal grid with iconic Los Angeles streets defining intersections translated by the sardonic visual language of Ruscha into something simultaneously immediate and familiar while ultimately non-referential and anonymous.
Naming nothing and emptying a map of topography, Ruscha challenges us to find anything in what we so easily recognize.
