About the Item

Henri Rivière – “La Féérie des Heures - L'Aube” This lithograph is signed by Henri Rivière and bears a red stamped seal in the lower right corner. The artwork is authentic and from the original period. In the margins, there are light vertical creases on both the right and left sides, ink marks, and some small stains in places. On the lithograph itself, a few small spots are also visible. The colors of the lithograph remain very fresh. Once framed, most of the imperfections will be hardly noticeable. About the Artist: Henri Rivière (1864–1951) was a French painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He began his artistic career with drawing and then turned to intaglio printmaking, especially etching, in 1882. In parallel, starting in 1886, he worked as a stage director and set designer for the shadow theatre at the famous Cabaret du Chat Noir, where he innovated with the use of colored scenery. Later, he devoted himself entirely to painting and printmaking, becoming a prominent figure in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcut, lithography, and watercolor—creating approximately a thousand watercolors during his lifetime.
