In the margins: small ink marks, fold lines, light stains, and slightly bumped corners.
On the lithograph itself: minor brown and white spots (due to ink loss).
Despite these imperfections, the lithograph remains very fresh in color. Once framed, most of the defects will be barely noticeable.

About the Artist:
Henri Rivière (1864–1951) was a French painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved into intaglio printmaking—particularly etching—in 1882. In 1886, he became a stage director and scenographer for the shadow theatre at the cabaret Le Chat Noir, where he introduced groundbreaking colored stage sets.
He later devoted himself entirely to painting and printmaking and became a key figure in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcut, lithography, and watercolor. Over his lifetime, he produced around one thousand watercolors.
