About the Item

Original heliogravure printed in 1937, featured in the first edition of the iconic art magazine Verve (Vol. 1, No. 1), published in Paris by Tériade. This particular image is the work of Makowska, capturing a poetic and modernist view of a woman weaving, her face blurred between the warp threads of the loom. The photograph balances craft and abstraction, texture and figuration — a rare glimpse into the tactile soul of pre-war modern photography. Printed in high-quality photogravure, this edition represents one of the earliest and most ambitious examples of fine-art publishing, bringing together the great artists and photographers of the era in a luxurious large-format volume. Framed in high-quality black lacquered wood. The frame shown is a digital mockup — the final piece will be framed upon purchase, allowing for a personalized assembly. Mat proportions may vary slightly in the final version.
