Mod Era Vividly Colored Silkscreen on Paper by Myfanwy Phillips

About the Item

A mod era silkscreen on paper. Repeating shapes and outlines in vibrant colors such as ultramarine blue and magenta, create the forms, the wallpaper, the floor, even the hair on the gentleman's chest and family pet. The white paper background is also used as form and shape such as the man's shirt and woman's necklace. I find the intensity of the colors and quirkiness of the characters is brilliant in bohemian op-pop-mod way. Frame is white with gold leaf. Signed lower right. Myfanwy Phillips is a writer, photographer and painter. Myfanwy was born in 1945 in Dehra Dun, India. Her parents sent her to The Royal School for Daughters of Officers of the Army in Bath, England. She ran away to London and from there landed in Toronto where she made a career for herself as a photographer and fine artist. She currently lives in North Haverhill, NH.
