One hand colored engraving depicting Bothwell ridden by jockey John Osborne Jr. winner of the Two Thousand Guineas Stakes in 1871. Published London, May 20th, 1871 by J. McQueen, 37 Great Marlborough Street, Regent Street & 22 Rue de Paris Dunlerque. The opposing hand colored engraving depicting Favonius, a racehorse owned by Baron Rothschild, Winner of the Derby, 1871, Value of Stakes L5125, engraved by Hunt & Son, drawn by Hunt Sr. Published London, May 20th, 1871 by J. McQueen, 37 Great Marlborough Street, Regent Street & 22 Rue de Paris Dunlerque. Both with jockeys wearing their silks mounted on dark winning stallions on the grass race tracks under gray cloudy skies. Both presented in matching figured wood frames with linen mats and glass. Dimensions: 8 3/4" high x 10 3/4" wide, and 7 3/4" high x 9 3/4" wide, plates 17 3/4" high x 19 3/4" wide, frames Condition: Please review the detail photos. Both are in good condition with good colors noting some very minor foxing.
