About the Item

Antique 1900s French Framed Tapestry of Monochrome Silk Woven. Beautiful old woven silk from Staron & Meyer Saint Etienne. Divine Images of the couples framed within a wooden picture frames. A Wonderful Addition for any Home or Collection. Saint-Etienne has the longest tradition of artist weaving in France. Weavers produced fabrics depicting family scenes, moral allegories, historical events and copies of other artworks primarily from 1890-1919. Some were woven in the 1920’s and sold as postcards, framed art, or used to make cushions. Silk is often very difficult to photograph, but this item really looks better than the photo. You can use it to add additional decorative elements or as an independent decoration for the interior of your home - hang the painting in the bedroom, living room, office or hallway.
