Fine Antique Teal Green Silk Goa Indian Embroidered Textile
About the Item
Probably commissioned for the Portuguese market, this elegant silk embroidery, complete of selvedges, shows a blossom of various flowers and leafs embellishing a teal blue-green background. The syncretism created by the the skilful drawing of the floral trail in conjunction with a refined palette is what distinguishes Indian textile art throughout the Mughal period.
