Pamela Print
Pamela Print is an award-winning weaver and textile artist with a studio practice based near London, producing handwoven, plant-dyed artworks and functional interior pieces.
Her work explores the ethos and design aesthetic of traditional textiles, such as Japanese Boro and Indian Kantha, and early 20th-century abstract art. Coming from a long career in the fashion textile industry and the centre of mass production, Pamela’s practice is now environmentally and ethically focused with a no-waste approach - each piece is produced by hand using natural materials, and for the latest collection, the introduction of plant dyes. Her tactile woven pieces combine double cloth and juxtaposed woven structures with dip-dyeing techniques, creating illusory ‘embroidered’ effects, with designs often woven spontaneously at the loom.
Each piece is handwoven to order in the studio and can be fully customised according to the client’s requirements. Pamela, a Central St Martins alumna, worked for fourteen years as a woven textile designer in London & Belgium before setting up her practice in 2017.
