About the Item

Introducing a Stunning Mid Century Aubusson Tapestry from Tunisia! We're delighted to present this exquisite Aubusson tapestry, meticulously crafted in Tunisia with the same method and looms as the Aubusson hand woven tapestries. Lovingly handwoven with wool on a cotton foundation, this tapestry showcases a harmonious blend of vibrant colors. Hervé Lelong (1937-2012) was a distinguished French artist, specializing in painting-cartonnier and point tapestry. Lelong's art is marked by a profound sensitivity to color and texture, along with an impeccable mastery of form and composition. This tapestry, rendered in an abstract style, depicts a captivating scene of a bird amidst stylized lush foliage, leaves, and branches. The palette of colors includes shades of red, orange, green , purple , brown, yellow and white.
