About the Item

Elegant and beautifully crafted, this etched panel, in purplish-blue glass, is a superb examples of Moderne design with a strong graphic appeal. The artist, Ivan Rigby, was a native of Tennessee, and moved East as a young man to attend the Maryland Institute of Art; he taught for many years at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he won the Rowena Reed Kostellow Award. The panel is set in a shadow box.
