About the Item

THIS IS A STUNNING EGYPTIAN REVIVAL BRACELET DATING TO THE ART DECO PERIOD WITH MAGNIFICENT IMAGES IN GUILLOCHE ENAMEL OVER STERLING SILVER - A RARE MUSEUM QUALITY BRACELET AND DATING TO CIRCA 1910-1930! There are 4 oval enamel panels featuring images of ancient Egypt with Pharoahs, Heiroglyphics, Birds and more. These are beautifully done on guilloche sterling silver with cream colored backgrounds. They have lovely royal blue borders. The oval links alternate with round links with black enamel. This bracelet dates to the Art Deco period, circa 1910 - 1930. During the 19th century, the discoveries of ancient archaeological finds influenced and brought on what is referred to as "archaeological revival jewelry," or "Egyptian revival jewelry." The initial Egyptian Revival period flourished from the 1820s onward, and was inspired by ancient Egyptian imagery, such as the scarab beetle, sphinxes, pharaohs, and hieroglyphics. The bracelet is 7 inches (18cm) long. It is 1/2 inch (12mm) wide. There is one area of superficial enamel loss within the blue border of one of the ovals which is almost impossible to see. The bracelet is hallmarked 935 for Sterling Silver with a maker's mark. The bracelet has a gold wash.

Egyptian Revival Winged Pharaoh King Tut Enamel Brooch Pin Art Deco Silver 3.6"
Located in New York, NY
Indulge in a rare Art Deco Egyptian Revival Winged Pharaoh Silver Enamel Brooch masterpiece. The brooch is a Museum Quality jewel. The stunning very large and dramatic 3 5/8 inch brooch is centered by the head of a Pharoah with a magnificent hand carved face in a natural material. The exquisite, highly detailed and sensitive noble face reflects the work of a master artisan. The Pharaoh wears a fabulous headdress that is adorned with blue and green enamel. On either side are magnificent enamel wings decorated with stunning green, blue and red-orange enamel in a dynamic pattern. The brooch pin is 800 Silver and dates to the Art Deco period, circa 1890-1920. It has its early C-clasp. The brooch could be easily converted to a pendant necklace if desired. The craftsmanship, design, colors and large size of this brooch reflect the height of the Art Deco Egyptian Revival period. The brooch is a treasure to be worn and to be passed on for generations. For centuries, Ancient Egypt has held the fascination of the public and continues to inspire artists and designers alike. With the discoveries of Egyptian tombs, and the treasures within, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the exotically opulent lives of the Pharaohs were beyond anyone’s imagination. Of all the precious objects unearthed in the tombs, the lavish jewels were perhaps the most fascinating for their extravagance and never-before-seen symbolism. The Roaring Twenties and the period’s Art Deco jewelry embraced the vivid contrasting colors, motifs, and symbols more daringly than ever before. Whether the jewels were complete, faithful reproductions or real artifacts preciously decorated in similar style, the Egyptian Revival jewelry during the Art Deco era is the most lavish and magnificent. The brooch is 3 5/8 inches (9.2cm) wide and is 1 inch (26mm) tall. The brooch is hallmarked on the back with 800 for 800 Silver which was the silver standard for most Continental jewelry...
