About the Item

Two are better than one when you find a rare pair of cut steel bracelets made of tightly clustered cut steel rivets that form flowers and bows along the seven inch length these Georgian bracelets. The rivets are so small that they could be poppy seeds. Only the oldest bracelets were made of these minuscule particles of steel. Each link amazes when you know that little fingers cut many facets in each tiny rivet at a time when the advantage of electricity did not exist. The romantic effect was to bring the glitter of diamonds to a woman in candlelit rooms. From our perspective, that is absolute romance. To the wealthy in 1830, candlelight was matter of fact, not a choice. Irrespective of this fact, women wearing the sparkle of popular and costly cut steel did look dazzling and do to this day. Wear two on one arm, one on each arm and don't forget how amazing they look on the sleeve of a black dress or sweater. Excellent condition. British origin.
