About the Item

A fine and impressive antique 3.13 carat opal and 12 karat yellow gold, steel set brooch; part of our Victorian jewellery collections. This fine and impressive antique Victorian brooch has been crafted in 12k yellow. The terminal of the antique pin brooch is ornamented with a feature twelve claw set 3.13ct cabochon cut white opal. The feature setting is secured to a steel pin, as often the case with such original antique examples. This antique brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12 karat gold and steel. This impressive Victorian opal pin brooch is supplied with an IDGL gemstone grading report card. This impressive opal brooch is fitted to a period hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'William Angus, Jeweller and Silversmiths, 27 & 29 Lord Street, Liverpool'. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone. Condition This impressive Victorian pin brooch is excellent quality, set with a fine and impressive feature opal displaying a scintillating play of colour. The brooch is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine piece of antique jewellery/estate jewelry. A stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian 2.50 carat opal and 0.12 carat diamond, 18 karat yellow gold brooch - boxed; part of our diverse brooches collection This stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian brooch has been crafted in 15k yellow gold. This fine brooch has a pierced decorated elliptical frame, displaying two floral motifs. The brooch is ornamented to the center with an impressive bezel set cabochon cut opal. This stunning central gemstone is flanked with flower motifs, each ornamented to the center with a claw set Old European cut diamond. Each diamond is encircled by six individually set cabochon cut opals, completing the cluster designs. The elliptical frame conjoining each floral cluster is embellished with two claw set round faceted cut rubies to the center of the arch. The Victorian bar brooch features an individual eight claw set round faceted cut ruby decorated terminal to either end. The brooch secures with a hinged pin and clasp to the reverse. The brooch is fitted to an impressive hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. This opal brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 karat gold. This impressive Victorian brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. Condition This impressive brooch is excellent quality, set with impressive opals displaying a scintillating play of color. The impressive rubies displaying fine color and brilliance. The supporting diamonds display a fine white color and brilliance. The exterior of the box is in presentation condition; the interior of the box shows wear in keeping with age. The brooch is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.
