About the Item

An exquisite and rare antique from the Renaissance Revival period, this Austro-Hungarian gilt silver and enamel pomander chatelaine pin is a true collector’s treasure. Meticulously handcrafted, it features breathtaking enamel work and finely painted details. At its center hangs a small perfume bottle pendant, which opens to reveal a hidden compartment — once used to hold perfume or aromatic substances. One side of the bottle is adorned with a beautifully detailed medallion of St. George, while the reverse showcases a striking 3D swan in relief. A piece steeped in history and craftsmanship, it has been acid tested for 800 silver purity.
