Antique 2.2ct old european cut diamond star earrings
About the Item

Aim for the stars!
The stars are handmade in platinum (Pt900) each set with an beautifully cut old European diamond of approx. 0.65-0.70 ct and approx. 0.80-0.85 ct, assessed in the set condition, millegrain set with old-cut and octagonal cut diamond, Bright lively stones. Estimated color I / vs.
The surrounding stones are a mix of old European cut diamonds and the smallest stones are single-cut diamonds. Per earring approx. 5 x 0.05 ct and single-cut 10 x 0.01 ct, in total approx. 0.35 ct per earring. So over a carat per each ear!
The pins are later. They are made in 18kt white gold with a screw mechanism. This tells us that the stars probably started out their life as something else. Buttons or part of a bigger piece of jewelry and have then but repurposed at a later date.
