This antique rare hand-pressed-glass necklace features semi-translucent grape-green large beads that are capped with gilt-brass filigree. Based on the combination of bead seams, spring-ring clasp, and metal findings on the unmarked faux Chinese-jade necklace, it dates to the late Victorian period most likely from Western Europe.
Around WWI, hand presses, which stamped molten glass into a mold to create a bead with a hole and a seam, were often used to produce costume jewelry as a cottage industry in Germany and the Czech region. This was while there was a lack of factory machine presses and finishing tumblers that used sand to polish out the seam lines.
Another reason that the cloudy green beads can be identified as atypically hand-pressed is that they are more opaque and therefore harder and less prone to breaking during formation than fully-translucent glass, which was better suited for automated-machine pressing. Also the green beads are an unusual swirled color including white, which suggests that their production was more limited than machine-pressing would enable.
Without the bead-seams, this necklace could be mistaken for one by Coco Chanel. Her 1920s couture...

This impressive, unforgettable Italian vintage necklace composed of five strands of cultured pearls of dark grey and cream tint pearls, highlighted with brilliant-cut diamond spacers, to an openwork geometric clasp set with natural brilliant-cut diamonds.
The pearls measure approximately mm each, dyed Grey cultured pearls with green and pink overtones, medium luster, round-shaped Cream pearls with pink and golden overtones, medium/high luster and the necklace has an approximate length of:
1st strand (White pearls) 13 3/4"+ 1 1/2" clasp (three parts) 53 Pearls 6.30-7.10mm
2nd strand (Black-grey pearls )14" + 1 1/2" clasp(three parts) 47 Pearls 6.50-6.80mm + 8 dividers
3rd strand (White pearls) 15"+ 1 1/2" clasp (three parts) 56 Pearls 6.30-7.20mm
4th strand (Black-grey pearls ) 16" + 1 1/2" clasp (three parts) 47 Pearls 6.50-6.80mm + 8 dividers
5th strand (White pearls) 17 1/2"+ 1 1/2" clasp (three parts) 65 Pearls 6.50-7.20mm.
The striking diamond clasp clasp mounted in 18K white gold secure box-style clasp with safety.
The clasp showcases Art Deco inspired design with 88 natural brilliant diamonds, weighing about 1.0ctw, along with 16 diamond rondels, 2.58x4.42mm (diameter) 6 diamonds (.01 each), weighing approx. 1.0ctw between grey pearls. Clasp is measuring approx. 1 1/2" x 3/4". Total diamond weight is estimated 2.0ct total.
Clasp stamped 750 and with Italian registry mark ‘*74PV’. Combined approximate weight is 126 grams.
Normal signs of wear, overall in great vintage condition. Clasp closes securely. All diamonds securely set.
