A Three-row Emerald Bead And Diamond Necklace
About the Item
A three-row emerald bead and diamond necklace, the three rows consisting of four-hundred-thirteen button-shaped emerald beads, graduating in size from 10.9mm to 6mm, embellished with twelve diamond-set spacers, all strung from an Art-Deco diamond-set clasp of geometric design, centrally set with a sugarloaf cabochon-cut emerald weighing 2.72 carats, the diamonds of the clasp estimated to weigh 2.5 carats in total, mounted in platinum, with white gold fittings, circa 1930 & later, the necklace measuring approximately 67cm x 3cm, gross weight 157.8 grams.
This vintage necklace is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, the clasp tested as platinum and 9ct gold.
A superb three-row emerald bead necklace with diamond-set details. This beautiful necklace terminates with a gorgeous Art Deco clasp comprising sparkling diamonds and a lovely deep green sugarloaf emerald set in the centre. The lush green emeralds are button-shaped and flow beautifully, changing colour from deep to vibrant green as the light hits them from different angles, only to be interrupted by the occasional twinkle of diamonds which are embellishing spacers strung along the three lush rows. This stunning necklace comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would look extraordinary paired with an elegant black dress.
