Antique Belle Époque Diamond Pearl Gold Necklace
About the Item
This delicate necklace was handcrafted in the last decade of the nineteenth century. It is made out of gold, diamonds and a variety of pearls. We see natural sweet water pearls, natural saltwater pearls and cultured salt water pearls. The necklace is made up from three edged stars set with diamonds. Ten articulated segments make up this necklace together with five thee edged stars. The entire necklace is secured by a thin gold chain that secures the delicate link structure. The individual links are joined by gold links set with pearls. In between the three edged stars we see pearls in gold settings from which an articulated diamond and pearl pendant is suspended. In all the necklace is et with twenty old cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.8 carats.
