About the Item

Bente Bonne, 1929-1996, was a highly acclaimed designer whose work in enamel and glass is rare and much admired by collectors. She was one of the very few artists who created silver and enamel pieces at the Georg Jensen Silversmithy. Bonne participated in many international exhibitions during the course of her career and her work is in the permanent collection of the British Museum. The design for this suite of jewelry was introduced in 1960. A bracelet of this model is illustrated in Georg Jensen Silversmithy, 77 Artists 75 Years, Number 16. A similar necklace was exhibited at Bard Graduate Center for Decorative Arts and is pictured in the exhibition catalogue. The necklace and bracelet are signed Georg Jensen, Sterling, Denmark, 120, the earrings with the same signature, numbered 132, all are in excellent condition. Modernist Georg Jensen Astrid Fog Large Sterling Silver Cross Bars Necklace
By Georg Jensen
Located in New York, NY
Scarce large 1970's Scandinavian Modernist sterling silver cross bars necklace by Astrid Fog for Georg Jensen. Astrid Fog (1911-1993) designed her first jewelry collection for Georg Jensen in 1969. Her jewelry designs are distinctive for their large scale and bold, modernist style using classic geometric forms such as rectangles, circles and squares. She successfully utilized high quality lightweight, hollow silver forms to create pieces which were striking as well as comfortable to wear. This beautiful necklace is from the estate of a noted New York City psychiatrist who collected interesting, unusual, often one-of-a-kind jewelry. The pendant measures 2.19 inches by 2.19 inches. The chain is 29 inches long. Marks: 379 925 S Denmark Georg Jensen...
