About the Item
Modernist design sterling silver gorilla pendant part of the zoo series created by New York City jewelry design team Jack Brusca and Joseph Dante in 1976. The pendant is 2 inches wide, 2 inches high and .88 of an inch deep in cast sterling silver. It is shown and included with a carmel brown leather cord necklace. The hook and eye clasp are silver tone metal and not sterling. The length is 16 inches.
Jack Brusca (1937 - 1993) was an accomplished painter and designer in addition to jewelry designer with partner Joseph Dante in the 1970s and 80s. This pendant was part of a personal collection of their friend and executive Margot Rogoff (American, 1935-2018). She was a former spokeswoman and director of public relations for Bloomingdale’s. In fact, it is personally inscribed on the bottom "For Margo, Love Jack & Joseph." Additionally inscribed with the company name Brusca Dante, NYC, Sterling, copyright C in a circle, Zoo for the series name and 76 for the year. The pendant weighs 41 grams. Last photo shows the pendant on a black silk braided cord for the idea and is not included.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. The silk cord necklace is new. The clasp is not sterling. However, the pendant may easily be worn with other styles of necklaces. The holes on top are .25 of an inch in diameter allowing for easy change to necklace types.
