THIS IS A GORGEOUS AND VERY RARE ART NOUVEAU - ART DECO PENDANT DEPICTING A SWIMMER SWIMMING IN THE WATER. THE MODELING OF THE SWIMMER IN THE WATER IS EXTRAORDINARY AND EXHIBITS STUNNING ART NOUVEAU DESIGN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SWIMMING MEDAL. IT IS MOST LIKELY GILT BRONZE. THE PENDANT DATES TO CIRCA 1910. THE DESIGN EPITOMIZES THE FLOWING NATURE INSPIRED LINES OF THE ART NOUVEAU PERIOD. THE THREE DIMENSIONAL ELEMENTS OF THE FACE OF THE SWIMMER COMING OUT OF THE WATER ARE WONDROUS.
The pendant is 1 7/8 inches long (49mm) including the bales. It is 1 inch (25mm) wide.
