Victorian 24.00ct Amethyst Diamond and Pearl Pendant, c.1880s
About the Item
A stunning 24.00 carat, heart shaped amethyst sits central to this Victorian pendant. Set into silver, as was common in the Victorian period, the amethyst is surrounded by a halo of old cut diamonds, with a bow design sat on top. The diamonds total 1.25 carat, ranging in colour from H to I and in colour from VS to SI. The pendant is backed in 15 carat yellow gold, the same metal as the top chain. Along this chain a selection of six natural pearls are set adding further beauty to this unique piece. Atop the chain, a silver fronted bale holds an additional three small diamonds completing the piece perfectly.
