Antique Jade Chinese Pendant circa Late 18th to Early 19th Century Qing Dynasty
Located in Chesterland, OH
A very large hand-carved natural untreated Burmese jade pendant circa the late 18th to early 19th century Qing Dynasty. A very rare and unique size! China directly controlled the Central Asian jade-yielding regions of Hotan and Yarkand between about 1760 and 1820, during which time much fine nephrite was sent to Beijing for carving. Jadeite from Myanmar (Burma) reached the capital from the second quarter of the 18th century, and chromite- or graphite-flecked “spinach jade” from the Baikal region of Siberia was imported in the 19th century. The finest Qing dynasty jade...

Roman Intaglio Carnelian Ring
Located in New Orleans, LA
Exceptionally rare and fashioned in the 2nd or 3rd century CE, the carved carnelian gemstone at the center of this ring hails from the Roman Empire. Displaying a rich red color and carved with the image of two Roman deities with a child, the creation exudes the glory of late antiquity. Each taking a classical contrapposto stance, the leftmost god appears crowned with laurels and grasping a staff, while the other appears nude. At their feet, an infant stretches his arms upward toward the divine figures. The crimson carnelian, more than a millennia-old, is set into a later 14K gold ring setting...

Important carved intaglio ring by Giovanni or Luigi Pichler (1773-1854). An extremely rare intaglio seal piece, created in Rome Italy by the Pichler's Atelier in the late early 18th century, circa 1795. It was carved in an oval cabochon cut shape, from a triple layered translucent bluish agate. The intaglio seal depicts the naked figure of the Roman goddess Mercury, in running flying position to the right with a helmet and winged sandals. One of the versions of the actual sculpture is located at the Bargello Museum in Florence Italy and the other at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
