A fine Victorian five-stone ruby and diamond ring, the ring alternately-set with three old brilliant-cut diamonds and two round-shaped faceted rubies, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 1.50 carats, the rubies estimated to weigh a total of 1.50 carats, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Burmese origin with no indications of heating, all claw-set within an ornately-carved mount of a scroll design, to a tapered D-section yellow gold shank with scroll carved shoulders, circa 1870, the head measuring approximately 2.2 x 0.6cm, gross weight 4.6 grams. Finger size N
This ring is in very good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
This gorgeous late Victorian ruby and diamond ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This ring features five stones, two vibrant, pigeon’s blood red rubies and three dazzling diamonds. The stones are set in the popular Victorian half-hoop style to an ornate scroll carved gallery mount. Between the main stones are set further glinting rose-cut diamonds which add further sparkle. A beautiful piece.
