About the Item
This is one of the most beautiful Antique Victorian to Art Deco 4 Carat Opal and Old Mine Cut Diamond Halo Rings we have seen. The ring is 14 Karat Yellow Gold and the Diamonds are set in Platinum or White Gold. The extraordinary round cabochon opal has blue, green, red, yellow and orange fire. The opal is a round cabochon of approximately 4 Carats and is 13mm in diameter. The exquisite opal is surrounded by a halo of 12 gorgeous sparkling white Old Mine Cut Diamonds. These radiant brilliantly white diamonds have the wonderful fire of the antique diamonds that we love. The diamonds are each individually prong set and bordered with milgrain beaded borders. Below the gems is an elegant open fretwork border in yellow gold. The band has a wonderful three prong design that continues on to lovely engraving along the band.
The design of this Art Deco - Victorian masterpiece is a delight from every angle and the combination of the vivid opal with the sparkling white diamonds is a dream. The period antique jewelry artisans used the most wonderful combination of gems to create impressive, lively and romantic jewels and this is one of my favorite antique rings. The ring is a special ring for the most glamorous occasion, or the perfect ring to wear everyday.
