This virtually perfect blue 9.23 carat pear cut tanzanite, with .23 carat flawless diamond accents, is an exceptional example of the treasures that lie beneath the earth. Rarer than diamonds by 1,000 times, tanzanite was created millions of years ago in a very small area of the world – in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Discovered in the 1960’s by Tiffany & Co., the famous house proclaimed tanzanite to be the most beautiful stone uncovered in the last 2,000 years. Whilst already a sought-after gemstone for its deep blue colour, size, and clarity, the value of tanzanite is expected to exponentially increase in the coming years as mines and supplies dry up.
