Antique Victorian 18K Gold Tiberius Paste Cameo Ring Sheffield 1893
This decorative gem ring is made of 18K/750 yellow gold and was created in England around 1900. The smooth, solid ring band with an oval ring head is set with a gem made of glass paste, which shows a portrait of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. Paste was cut by hand with the same effort as real gemstones and was particularly popular at the end of the 19th century. Stones could be made in every imaginable color. This has been achieved particularly harmoniously with our gem ring. The finely cut portrait in chocolate brown harmonizes particularly well with the milky background. The Victorian statement ring is wonderfully preserved apart from a minimal chip on the edge of the gem. The paste gem has an impressive size of 24.7 x 19.36 mm, and the ring weighs 10.2 grams.
