About the Item
An Art Deco ruby, diamond, platinum, and yellow gold ring, comprising one lozenge shaped ruby, and two rose cut diamonds, in 18 karat white and yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Art Deco 18K Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring, is the striking cut of the ruby. What’s yours? Perhaps the geometric setting? Or the contrast between the white and yellow gold?
This Art Deco ring centres upon a striking, geometric ruby. The vibrant, pinkish-red ruby has been cut into a fancy lozenge shape, and is set east to west, within a millegrain-edged bezel setting. The setting of the ring mirrors the shape of the ruby and is set to the top and bottom with glittering rose cut diamonds. Openwork sections complete this striking, Art Deco, geometric ring. White gold shoulders taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ruby is lab created / synthetic, which was the height of fashion at the time the ring was made, as the best, vibrant colours could be achieved. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The setting of the ring measures 7.2mm long and 11mm wide. The ring rises 2.5mm off the hand, and the band measures 1mm wide at the back.
