About the Item
This is a rare French Art Deco - Art Nouveau Limoges Enamel Ring with an image of the God Bacchus in exquisite blue and white Pate de Verre enamel in 10 Karat Gold. The magnificent portrait of Bacchus is created with vivid iridescent blue and white Pate de Verre enamel. This portrait of Bacchus has a magnificent face and the ring is a masterpiece of Limoges Enamel work. I love the headdress and smile rendered in the stunning iridescent blue and white portrait. Creating this iridescence requires a master artisan. The ring is a very fine work of wearable period art by an extraordinary artist. The ring is signed Limoges France on the reverse.
Limoges Enamels have been produced since the 1200s. They have been collected throughout the centuries by avid collectors. The artists creating jewels during the Art Nouveau period created some of the most beautiful Limoges images. These Art Nouveau pieces are rare as they were created in very limited quantities, each being a unique piece of original art.
The enamel is in perfect condition. There is some light reflection in the photos.
The top of the ring is 18mm in diameter.
Tthe ring is currently a size 5.25 US and can be easily resized if desired.
