About the Item
Fine high cabochon fire opal weighing 16.4 cts., set in an antique platinum ring, c. 1915. This very unusual stone is crystal clear and displays bright yellow, orange, red and green colors. It has intense vibrant color. The stone is held in ornate prongs.
The weight of the stone is stamped on the inside of the shank, as well as P.M. (.850) for Platinum. This ring is in fine condition, a size 6.5 and can be resized.
Please note our model has a medium to large size hand.

Art Deco Diamond, Ruby and Platinum ring made early to mid 20th century. This is a finely made platinum ring with 62 bead set well matched brilliant cut fine diamonds totaling an estimated 1.85 cts. The diamonds are all graded to be approximately H, near colorless, and very slightly included, VS1. The 22 fine natural vivid red rubies (probably from Burma), are channel set, and well matched in color and clarity. The estimated weight of the rubies is 1.10 cts. Totally there are 2.95 cts. of fine stones. The ring is unmarked, and acid tests platinum. The ring is a size 7.5 and can be resized.
The ring is not just flat but slightly graduates out off the finger creating a three dimensional quality; that, with the strong color contrast of the brilliant white and vivid red come together to create a fine late Art Deco statement...
