About the Item

A refined luxurious avant-garde fashion statement. Hexagonal, finely openwork ring in platinum 850 thousandths, set with a claw-set triangle-cut diamond in a double setting of old-cut and 8/8-cut diamonds, punctuated by three calibrated emeralds. Basket delicately pierced with geometric structure. Made Circa 1930. Diamond weight of center stone: 1.80 ct approx. G/vvs Gross weight: 4.80 g. Ring size us 7, 54. O, 17.25, 14 (re-sizeable) This is not a standard piece that one comes across every day. Very unique and special. A mystical and quintessential Art deco design where the maker skillfully plays with several geometric shapes that interact with each other. A triangle within two hexagonals. At the same time the three emerald accent completes the triangle to also appear as a six pointed star if that is your interpretation. The Triangle cut diamond is spectacular, G – vvs. The maker shows off masterful craftsmanship with an intricately pierced gallery and shank. The Hexagon often symbolizes harmony, unity and structure. Seen in nature for example in honeycombs or snowflakes. The triangle often represents strength, stability and the trinity (past, present, future or mind, body, spirit.). In esoteric symbolism it has been used as representation of the interplay between the divine (triangle) and the material world (hexagon). A Star of David or just a triangle inside a hexagon as incomplete unity or possibility for transformation. But also when put in context of a ring one might see it as masculine-feminine duality and harmony. 1930s drew a lot of inspiration from Egyptian revival and mysticism. Sacred geometry, hidden messages even if stylized for purely aesthetic reasons. Whats your interpretation? Hidden symbols or just spectacular art. What do you see?
