About the Item

This exceedingly well-made cultured Akoya pearl bypass ring was created from gleaming 18K white gold by the hands of a French jeweler in the 1950s (or thereabouts). The pearls -one creamy white and the other aubergine- measure 8.40mm and 9.48mm. Each pearl is complimented in the mounting with a ribbon of white gold set with four small, bright and white diamonds that together total just under a quarter carat. This is such a practical ring as well as a beautiful vintage French piece. Because you can wear it with your creamy white cultured Akoya pearl necklaces or your darker Tahitian and South Sea strands. It has been well-cared-for and remains in excellent condition, though the French assay marks on the rear of the shank are less visible now than they were when the stamps were fresh. This is a high-quality ring made to the impeccable standards of France in the Midcentury. It ships with a GIA certificate stating that the cream pearl is a cultured Akoya pearl and the dark pearl is undetermined.

Jade & Pearl Ring Certified Untreated
Located in Southbury, CT
A large oval cabochon of translucent seafoam green jadeite jade is surrounded by 16 luminous natural pearls in this ever-stylish 14K white gold halo ring from the early 1950s. The jade stone is natural and untreated and displays a high degree of translucency. Which is why this jade ring looks spectacular whether it is in direct sunshine, or just barely illuminated by the waning light of a nearby window. The luminous jade stone changes its appearance throughout the day, as the light changes. The jade cabochon measures 14.5mm x 9.19mm Seafoam green was pointedly on-trend in the 1950s when this ring was hand-fabricated. The pearls surrounding the jade are at least partially drilled —possibly they are drilled all the way through; I can't tell because of how they are set in the mounting. At least one and probably all of the pearls are natural, un-cultured saltwater pearls. They are older than the ring itself. It's not unusual to encounter repurposed jewelry...
